BackBig Enterprise Day
Posted on: 11/07/2026On Tuesday 7th July 2026, 330 year 8 students participated in the Big Enterprise Day. The aim of the event was to encourage enterprise in our pupils, give them insight into the type of skills they would need in the world of work and have fun.
The students were fantastic and worked incredibly well in very hot conditions. The event was supported by external business advisors from the local community who were incredibly impressed by the creativity, teamwork, originality, and resilience demonstrated by our students. The students had to design a new restaurant, identifying their target market and what made their restaurant special. They also created a brand name, calculated their revenues and costs. The most popular activity was to create a t-shirt advertising their new restaurant, which produced an impressive array of designs. The Enterprise Day finished with each group presenting their restaurant idea to their business advisor, who then selected a winner.
We believe students enjoyed the day, based on the studen

t feedback where 97% would like more enterprise days in the future. 95% of students thought the day allowed them to demonstrate key employability skills and gave them an insight into different careers. Based on this feedback, combined with feedback from the advisors and other staff then we hope to offer more opportunities for enterprise in 2027.
We appreciate your support in leading up to the day and hope that your child enjoyed the experience.
