We are embarking on an exciting project to relocate our current Kenilworth School at Leyes Lane and Sixth Form at Rouncil Lane.
We are proposing a new, purpose built secondary school and sixth form offering improved teaching, learning and sports facilities at Southcrest Farm, Glasshouse Lane, Kenilworth (see Site Location plan).
Kenilworth School and Sixth Form is recognised as a ‘World Class School’ and Centre of Excellence for Inclusion. It is committed to delivering the best possible secondary education for the current and future young people of Kenilworth. The new facilities will enable the school to increase capacity providing places for 2,200 pupils.

Support our New School Project
As you may already know we have recently submitted a planning application to Warwick District Council for full planning permission for a new purpose-built secondary school to accommodate 2200 pupils.
The application is for new facilities to be developed at Southcrest Farm on Glasshouse Lane to the east of Kenilworth and will include a new three storey secondary school and sixth form building, walking and cycle access and egress from Glasshouse Lane, parking spaces for cars, school buses, electric vehicles, sheltered bicycle racks, internal drop-off zones, sports pitches, landscaping and auxiliary outbuildings.
As a ‘World Class School’ and Centre of Excellence for Inclusion, Kenilworth School and Sixth Form is committed to delivering the best possible secondary education for the current and future young people of Kenilworth. The project will enable the school to increase capacity, offer improved teaching, sports and learning facilities. There will be an emphasis on creating sensory spaces, a dedicated SEN area and our sixth formers will have their own space to prepare students for when they leave to go into Further/Higher Education or industry.
You can find more details of the plans for the new school on the WDC website planning portal (a link is provided below).
We would appreciate supportive comments being logged on the Warwick District Council website but there are other ways that you can note your support for the school.
If you have not already done this, please could I ask that you use the following links to show support for relocation project:
- Comment on the planning application via the Warwick District Council website. These comments will be considered by the Planning Committee. You can do this here:
- If you live or work in Kenilworth, write to or email your local Councillor asking him or her to support our planning application. You can find details of the Councillors and their contact details here: https://estates4.warwickdc.gov.uk/cmis/
Our application will be considered by the planning committee in July. The more supportive comments we can get alongside our application, the more chance we have of being successful.
Thank you very much for your support.
