Bring your reading book to school!

Regular reading can improve your vocabulary, spelling and maths scores, and research has shown that reading has more of a positive impact on your overall exam results in secondary school than other influences.

For this reason, you must bring a reading book to school with you as part of your day-to-day essential equipment

If you are in Year 7-11, make sure you have your reading book ready from Monday 6th November!

Squash Success

Abd-Allah Eissa 7J played in the British Junior Closed (which is the biggest National Junior Squash Tournament in the calendar) last weekend. Despite his knee injury, he managed to reach the semi-finals of the U13s category. This has led to the opportunity for consideration in representing England in the European championship next year

Kenilworth School GCSE results 2017

Congratulations to our Year 11 students who achieved an excellent set of GCSE results. The results were the culmination of the hard work from both our students and staff over the last two years. This year saw the introduction of the new 9-1 grading in Maths and English (9 being the highest grade awarded with 4 counting as a standard pass and a grade 5 being a strong pass).

English and Maths Grade 9 - 4

86.4% of students achieved 9-4 in English Language and 87.2% achieving 9-4 in English Literature.

89.1% of students achieved 9-4 in Mathematics.

Combined 86% of our Year 11 achieved 9-4 in English and Mathematics.

English and Maths Grade 9

English                                  6.4%

Maths                                   6.8%

I would like to invite all parents and carers of Year 10 students to the above meeting, intended to give information about important issues which will arise for students in Years 10 and 11.  We will also outline the school’s expectations of students during this time and give you an overview of the structure of Years 10 and 11. There will be opportunities for you to ask questions and to meet tutors and senior staff.

Communication between parents and teachers becomes increasingly important in Years 10 and 11 and we hope that this evening will mark the beginning of a successful partnership.

I do hope that you will be able to join us for this event, but if you cannot do so, please do not hesitate to make contact if you need information.
