Hello, I'm Sue Casey and I've been a governor since 2006 and at Kenilworth School since April 2011; I was elected as Chair of Governors in April 2014.
I have lived in Kenilworth for more than 15 years and have two sons who have attended Kenilworth School. I have always been involved at the boys’ schools both as a member of the PTA and as a Governor at their junior school. Before I had the children, I worked in the electricity industry where I had various roles and responsibilities including personnel, administration, office, financial and contract management.
Over recent years the Governing Body has faced some very challenging times and difficult decisions have had to be made. As the previous Chair of the Resources Committee I was involved in high level financial discussions with Warwickshire County Council to put in place a robust plan to avoid setting a deficit budget. The future development of Kenilworth, as outlined in the Warwick District Council Local Development Plan, brings exciting times to the town and the school very much wants to be at the forefront of changes and at the heart of the community.
I have recently been designated as a National Leader of Governance (NLG); one of 500 throughout the country and I am currently working with and supporting two other schools in Warwickshire.
Being a Governor can be hard work and is a big voluntary commitment but I am proud to be the Chair and I look forward to leading the Governing Body and working with staff, students, parents and the wider community to ensure the best possible education and outcomes for all our children.
